Pink Journal

My Thoughts and Self Reflections

A Time for a Self Evaluation
So I have realized something that has been difficult for me to admit. I'm pretty close-minded when it comes to certain things. I didn't really notice it, but recently I have been looking through my iPod and I can say that 90% of the songs are rock songs. I enjoy watching and listening to things that are harsh and grotesque. I tend to not want to watch something that is not what I would normally watch or listen to. Even my friends say that I need to expand my horizons. Just the other day, I was going through all the posts that I put up here on LiveJournal and most of them have to do with rock, whether its J-Rock or heavy metal. I find myself listening to the same songs over and over again. Yes, I do find new artists and songs to listen to, but they are in the same genre and in the same style. Honestly, I really want to get into different genres, but I sometimes find myself slowly going back to my heavy metal/rock tunes.
A couple of months ago, I was trying to get into K-Pop, and was listening to a singer called Seven He seems pretty decent, and I will try to listen to him more. Anyway, I don't have anything against K-Pop, but it's their fans that are really annoying. That is the main reason why I don't listen to K-Pop. I have a fear of  becoming a K-Pop fan and behaving the same way. And while we are talking about Pop music, I have to admit I do like some J-Pop artists...there I said it! I listen to Utada Hikaru and Perfume sometimes.
Well, what I'm trying to say is...I must be more open to trying new things that I normally wouldn't bother with. I have to take baby steps, but I'll get there!

Yeah, I know I'm late and this song is pretty old, but I just discovered it today. I can't stop playing it! This is one of the best J-Rock songs I have ever heard!!!!

Patiently waiting for Winter to get here!!!!
So I finally get ONE WHOLE WEEK off from work! What are am I to do?! I really don't want to go out because it's so DAMN HOT outside! I think I'll spend some time in Tokyo (again) and do some shopping for the Winter season even though it's really hot. I need new sweaters, coats, jeans, and boots so I might as well get ready early.

Anyway, I haven't been too happy about my time here in Japan. I live and work in a hick town where farms are everywhere! There aren't enough sidewalks for me to ride my bike, I constantly smell manure when I'm out, and there are very few buses here! I thought about breaking my contract to relocate to Tokyo, but I decided to stay until it ends in March. I do plan on relocating to Tokyo right after my contract ends so I have already started looking for positions in the Kanto region (preferably Tokyo).
I have been here since January and I have not gone to a J-Rock concert yet! I know that's hard to believe, but it's true! But before this year is over, I'll go to at least ONE live! That is my goal that I want to reach before 2012 hits.

Well I'm done venting for today, so I'll just share a song that I have been listening to ALL DAY!

Brilliant New Song from Dir en Grey - AMON

Finally on Tumblr!
I just got on Tumblr and will be venting on everyday occurrences that go on in my life. It'll be more personal than my Journal here. If you want to add me you can here:

I can't think of a title for this entry...
Well, Golden Week has come to an end and I haven't done much. No traveling here, but I managed to do some Spring cleaning at my place. Oh yeah...I did a lot of shopping too! I can't believe I spent 70,000 yen in just one week! But at least I have new clothes, a new television, and a Nintendo Wii! I put up my new T.V., but I haven't set up my Wii yet. I also bought new games to play when my friends come over! ^_^ I know, I'm such a dork!

Anyway, throughout this week I re-discovered bands that I used to listen to on (when it was free to listen to music from your favorite bands >_<). Listening to these songs from UnSraw, Girugamesh, Deathgaze, -OZ-, Skull, Lynch, and a few others reminded me why I love J-Rock and visual kei! I'll post a few songs here! Enjoy! ^.^

SCReW's latest PV - DEEP SIX

Just stumbled across SCReW's new (well not so new, but it's the first time I have seen it) PV, and I must say this band is AMAZING! I have always been a fan of SCReW, but I will definitely purchase their old and new releases from now on. I also would like to see them live. Anyway, this song is awesome and the PV is brilliant! Here is the PV. Enjoy! ^_^

This band is clearly underrated! >_<

Preview of Exist Trace - TRUE

The preview is awesome! I wonder how the full song will be! I can't wait! n_n

Another Great Band Gone...

I know I'm a little late on this, but the disbanding of Deluhi is still a shock to me. I really believed that they would come back from their hiatus tougher than ever. I was anticipating on their comeback and I discover this awful news. I'm really going to miss this band...

It's been a while...
Ever since the earthquake and the tsunami that took place last month, I had to take a break. I did  a lot of thinking (and crying), but I'm back. I really hope things get better here in Japan because we all have been hearing nothing but bad news.
I would like to post a video by J-Rock band Rentrer en soi. It's called Last Word. Even though I'm a beginner when it comes to speaking and understanding the Japanese language, this song has somewhat helped me through these troubled times. I can hear the emotion and the sadness in Satsuki's voice, which is why I love this song.

Unfortunate News - UnsraW will Disband
I really apologize for coming back with awful news, but UnsraW will be disbanding... u_u

UnsraW has announced on their OHP that not only has their vocalist Yuuki left the band, but that the remaining members have decided to disband.
The band has not yet set their final live, so we’ll update you when more information is available.

The following message was posted on their official site:
To everyone supporting UnsraW,
Thank you for your continued support of UnsraW.

Although it is sudden, due to personal reasons, our vocalist Yuuki feels
that continuing in UnsraW has become too difficult,
and therefore has left the band as of March 4th, 2011.

Due to Yuuki leaving, the remaining members had countless discussions [about the future of the band]
and although it was not an easy decision to make, we have decided to disband.
We are truly sorry for having to announce our decision in this manner.

The remaining members, Madoka, Tetsu, Jin and Sho,
will carry out our scheduled lives as planned,
however, we are still trying to make
a decision on UnsraW’s last live, so please wait for our update.

We hope that you will continue to support us until the end.

The band’s schedule is as follows:

March 5th @ Sendai HOOK
March 11th @ Takadanobaba AREA
March 12th @ SHIBUYA BOXX
April 26th @ SHINJUKU RUIDO K4
May 8th @ Shibuya STAR LOUNGE
May 13th @ Nagoya HEART LAND
May 15th @ Namba ROCKETS
May 21st @ Takadanobaba AREA
May 28th @ Takadanobaba AREA
